With Alice’s protocol I am finding myself very well especially in the upper thoracic part, in the expansion of the apical part of the lungs. This gives me benefit both at the postural level and at the level of lung capacity as well as lengthens the clavicle / scapular part, giving me more comfort and relaxation in keeping the arms together above the head in the monofin position. Finally the work on the diagram is decisive for the compensation in depth
Martin Zaiac: Freediver and owner of Aquaman Freediving Center – Czech Republic:
I’d like to thank Alice Cattaneo for showing me the bridge and guiding me through the BCS training. It is a perfect tool for increasing flexibility in several parts of the body: chest, diaphragma, spine and shoulders. It also works wonders with strenghtening the breathing muscles and gaining more control over coordination of one‘s breathing. Nowadays, I can hardly imagine a professional (or a more serious amateur) not using the bridge! Many thanks Alice!
Jindřiška Zajacová : Freediver
With these „bridge-stretching“ exercises, Alice has introduced a whole new range of possibilities for freedivers, amateurs and professionals alike. It is not the most comfortable thing to do, but the results are totally worth it! I don’t know of any better way to increase your chest and diaphragma flexibility, while also gaining more awareness of your breathing! Even with a little bit of practice you will notice some great changes in your relaxation during your dives. It feels like if my lung capacity was infinite! Great job Alice!
DEBORA BOTTARI: CANTANTE E COMICA CORREZIONE POSTURA
COMIC AND SINGER: POSTURAL CORRECTION
I can confirm that after a very short time Simone is strengthening his back and becoming more elastic, his problem of constant pain in his neck has also improved. I can confirm this because I am the person who take pictures of him. I am also using the bridge and I must say that I feel less “humped”, my posture has improved considerably and my breathing has also improved. I have to say that this little tool really does its job. Highly recommended!!!

GABRIELLA OLDANI – 72 ANNI!! CORREZIONE POSTURA
72 years old!!! POSTURAL TRAINING
I tried this tool a little skeptical considering my age no longer very young, instead I immediately realized the work that allowed me to perform in a non-traumatic way on my whole back and on the rigid part of my neck and shoulders, soon changing my physical and postural conformation.
Since I tried it I have never abandoned it, even if only ten minutes a day with beautiful relaxing music!
GIANNI DANUBIO: freediving instructor at Apnea Academy International – Hungary
Maintaining the flexibility of the spine is essential for the healthy functioning of our body. The “bridge” is an effective tool that can help bring variety to our training and open up new dimensions in our movements. To exploit its potential we must follow an appropriate method: Alice’s BCS protocol is the way to go!
Every freediver has a common goal: to increase the vital capacity of the lung. In addition to the basic stretching exercises, there is a next level that we should all implement in our training: the “bridge” tool. Follow Alice’s BCS protocol and it will bring measurable results!

DARIO CARPENITO: Freediver Instructor and founder of Embodied Ocean Freediving (Western Australia)
I tried the BCS protocol for the first about a year ago at the Freediving World Center in Sharm under the guide of Alice and Andrea. Well, after just 10 minutes of different exercises i felt like i had done one hour of work out. Incredible! This protocol is usefull for everyone to strech back, lengthen the spine, open the chest, stretch out abdominal muscles, open the body to diaphragmatic breathing, increase flexibility. Since that day, as a freediver, i keep practicing every morning and i can guarantee you will notice the benefits in a short amount of time.
ALESSANDRA CASSANDRA: Istruttore AA diplomata ISEF
I discovered the BCS Protocol 2 years ago at the Freediving World Apnea center in Sharm thanks to Alice Cattaneo. Since then the “bridge” has become an inseparable training partner! With it I immediately noticed a significant improvement in my elasticity and with a constant practice also an improvement in lung capacity, the improvements in water were their consequence. I really recommend its use to everyone, sportsmen and not. ” (Alessandra Cassandra ISEF Graduated AA Instructor)
Alberto Porcu: Istruttore Fipsas ( Centro Didattico Immersione Sassari)
I met the bridge and BCS protocol in September 2018 on the occasion of my trip to Sharm at the Freediving World Center.
I wanted to try the first training with the bridge under the guidance of Alice Cattaneo ……. I was very interested. The impact was traumatic because I realized how stuck I was with my back, but already from the third workout I started to feel and understand the benefits that I could get with frequent use of the jumper.
Being a freediving instructor, as soon as I returned to Italy I immediately wanted to organize an internship with Andrea and Alice on BCS protocol ….. it was also much appreciated by the students of the school with which I collaborate …. the Diving Didactic Center.
After more than 2 years, I still train with a certain regularity with the bridge with significant improvements both in posture and in the ability to charge air before a dive

MARGHERITA PALETTA – YOGA INSTRUCTOR
The arching postures in yoga practice, essential for greater mobility of the spine, are also among those that arouse the most fear.
On the physical level, extending backwards is not a habitual movement, a sedentary lifestyle leads us on the contrary to assume postures of closing forward and therefore to have a spine with many points of rigidity that are difficult to dissolve.
On the emotional level, arching means abandoning oneself to that unknown space behind us, the one we cannot actually see. The opening, on the other hand, creates anxiety because it exposes the most delicate and vital parts of our body, such as the throat … the heart.
As a yoga practitioner and teacher, I was able to experience how the use of the bridge provides both physical and emotional support, helping us to mobilize and extend our spine in total confidence and tranquility.
The roundness of the bridge does not require excessive effort, there is no fear of falling, of losing balance, because the bridge supports us and allows us to live the posture in a serene way. Once the emotional tensions are released, even the physical structures relax, without resistance, when the heart opens. Breath is fundamental in the use of the bridge.
With inhalation, the cage opens at the sides and upwards, the ribs rise and, being articulated to the dorsal vertebrae, create space between them, reducing the compression between the vertebral discs; with the exhalation we keep the thoracic cage wide, while making the abdomen retract which thus extends and lengthens the lumbar area.
With each breath, we can focus our attention on a point of the spine that we feel more rigid than others, to relax it and feel that its contact area with the surface of the bridge becomes wider. And again with the inhale, we bring awareness to the shoulders that open allowing the arms to stretch a little more beyond the head; with the exhalation we release unnecessary tension at the level of the pectoralis minor muscle and the entire shoulder girdle.
The bridge supports us and allows us to experience this mobility without fear of falling, with our times and according to our possibilities, as in a conscious dance to the rhythm of our breathing. Once raised from the bridge, it will not be difficult to feel a concrete physical and emotional well-being because by mobilizing the spine, those nerve endings that branch off from it are stimulated and transmit to the central nervous system real signals of good mood and positivity.
